ICSFlux Accepted to IEEE SP 2026

09 March 2026

Our paper, Fuzzing the Physical Space: Physics-Aware Testing of Black-Box Industrial Control Systems has been accepted to the 47th IEEE S&P Symposium.

Here is a synopsis of it, more to come in a future blog post with the link to the presentation and paper:

Traditional fuzzing techniques often fail to detect physical security violations in critical industrial control systems because these hazards can emerge gradually from seemingly valid commands on locked-down controllers. To bridge this critical gap we developed ICSFlux which introduces a physics-aware, black-box fuzzing approach that leverages physical models to systematically uncover these hidden vulnerabilities. By directing test generation toward high-risk physical partitions, ICSFlux successfully discovered 20 physical security violations across 11 diverse industrial testbeds.
